Description of Each Course Type and Target Universities

GLOBAL TYPE

Duration of classes per week: 34 hours + eighth and ninth period

TARGET UNIVERSITIES

GLOBAL COURSE

This course has two types of study abroad program (Long-term Program and Short-term Program) and consists of thorough follow-up programs with the aim of getting high foreign languages skills, such as TOEIC score of 850, and obtaining a comprehensive knowledge on global understanding. The students in this course aim to enter the most leading private universities after three years of study. Also, they learn the basic foundation of being a global leader by learning Uragaku’s main subjects such as English language and global education.

International Christian University, Sophia University and other prestigious private universities and international universities

ADVANCED TYPE

Duration of classes per week: 37 hours + eighth and ninth period

TARGET UNIVERSITIES

T-TOKU COURSE

This course is Uragaku’s original “T-project” course with “Academic and Career Guidance.” The goal of this course is for students to pass the entrance examination of not only national public universities such as Tokyo University and Kyoto University but also the most prestigious private universities. From second year, students are given a chance to select between Liberal Arts Track and Science Track. Students in this course should take eighth and ninth period classes, and are not allowed to participate in extracurricular activities (clubs).

Prestigious national universities such as Tokyo University, Kyoto University and Tohoku University

S-TOKU COURSE

This course is similar to T-TOKU COURSE. The goal of this course is to help students pass the entrance examination of both prestigious national public universities and private universities. From second year, students are given a chance to select between Liberal Arts Track and Science Track. Students in this course should take eighth and ninth period classes, and are basically not allowed to participate in extracurricular activities (clubs).

Prestigious national and private universities such as Tsukuba University, Chiba University, Waseda University and Keio University

TOKUSHIN COURSE

The goal of this course is to help students pass the entrance examination of national universities in Kanto Region such as Saitama University, Utsunomiya University and the other prestigious private universities. In this course, the students are allowed to participate in some extracurricular activities (clubs) while studying every day. From second year, students are given a chance to select between Liberal Arts Track and Science Track.

National public universities in Kanto Region such as Saitama University and Utsunomiya University, and private universities such as Meiji University and Chuo University

FUNDAMENTAL TYPE

Duration of classes per week: 30 hours + seminar-style classes

TARGET UNIVERSITIES

ADVANCED COURSE ON LITERATURE AND SCIENCE

While students are given opportunities to participate in different extra-curricular activities, they are also guided in preparation for taking the entrance examination of the most prestigious universities. The students are encouraged to aim for a higher level of academic advancement to make them diverse learners. From second year, students are given a chance to select between Liberal Arts Track and Science Track.

Prestigious private universities such as Rikkyo University, Hosei University and Aoyamagakuin University

GENERAL COURSE ON LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE

The students who aspire to continue their education by entering colleges and universities belong to this course. The students who take this course also have ample time to enjoy club activities. During second year, students are given a chance to select between Liberal Arts and Science Track.

Prestigious private universities such as Toyo University, Senshu University and Nihon University

BASIC EDUCATION COURSE

“I want to go to college but I can’t decide what subjects I’m going to take.” The Basic Education Course is recommended for students who want to explore different tracks. When students are promoted to second grade, they are given a chance to decide whether they will take the Literature Track or Information Technology Track. Students who belong to this course participate in regular classes, club activities and school events while discovering their potentials and dreams.

Educational institutions that specialize in Liberal Arts and Information Technology

HEALTH AND MEDICAL COURSE

This course is intended for students who want to take up four-year courses in nursing schools, junior colleges or vocational schools. The students acquire the basic knowledge and skills regarding medical care form various activities such as medical training, lectures from clinical instructors, school visit and medical institution visits.

Private universities and educational institutions that specialize in nursing and medicine

ART COURSE

This course is meant for students who wish to continue their education in art and design colleges and universities. After three years of studying, the students in this course earn 20 units of art classes. They will earn the basic skills and knowledge such as planar and three dimensional designs and oil painting. This course will help the students strengthen their power of expression.
