Mission statement
![吾道一貫](../img/introduction/txt_rinen_01.gif)
吾道一貫 Go Dou Ikkan was originated by Confucius. It is written in the book titled “Analects of Confucius”. Go Dou Ikkan means “all-pervading unity”. As stated in the book, all-pervading unity has underlying principles. These are: 仁Jin, which means benevolence, and 忠恕Chuujo, which means conscientiousness and consideration for others.
Both principles embody and manifest one’s high nature. Chuujo means following the naturally good heart in relations with others. This means that people need to be true to the principles of our nature and the benevolent exercise of them to others. This teaching is composed of two words: conscientiousness and charity. In this regard, the main responsibility of the members of the society is to sacrifice their lives for the sake of what is right; people have to do what is right without causing trouble to their fellow individuals. This teaching can be summarized as conscientiousness to the self and consideration for others.
The founding of Myojo Gakuen School Corporation Urawa Gakuin High School is based on this teaching. Our school corporation focuses on nurturing the people through unity, sincerity and devotion.

School Precepts
![克己 仁愛 共生](../img/introduction/txt_rinen_02.gif)
克 己
克己 Kokki means self-control or self-denial. It is the ability to control the egocentric desires in life. In order to establish a harmonious society, people must know how to position themselves—what kind of place they are in, who they are with, and what kind of response is appropriate for various situations.
仁 愛
仁愛 Jinai means being aware that people must support each other. It is the state of being loyal and humane to others. In the same way, each person is a member of the society and each member of the society plays his role in order to build a harmonious co-existence. No matter how strong a person is, he cannot live alone. Humane love is essential to one’s growth.
共 生
共生 Kyousei means coexistence. A harmonious society is formed by members who have helping hands. Through camaraderie, the members of society can pursue their dreams and hopes. However, achievement of dreams is not considered genuine happiness unless other people helped in order to achieve it. Genuine happiness is not simply realizing one’s dream but having a companion in achieving it. Our school believes that coexistence is the key to real happiness. We seek to coexist with other people conscientiously.
